When do the Polls Open, What are the Voting Times
With Election Day nearing, an important question is when do the polling places open and how long do they stay open? This is another thing that varies slightly from county to county and state to state.
Election Day itself is the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. That means that the earliest day could be November 2nd and the latest November 8th depending upon what date Election Day falls in the year in which you are voting. In 2011, for instance, Election Day is November 8th, in 2012 it is November 6th.
Many states open polling places at 7AM and close them at 7PM. However some states have longer voting hours, opening at 6AM and closing even as late as 9PM.
This is another one of those things that you can only answer definitively by contacting you local city hall, county government offices, or Office of the Secretary of State.
More information on this can be found at both your county government website as well as your Secretary of State's website.
