Who Has the Right To Vote?
Who Has the Right To Vote? YOU do! Every American, whether a natural born or naturalized citizen, has the right to vote in any and all elections in the United States of America.
Each state and county have differing requirements for voting, so what do you need to vote?
- You must be a U.S. citizen, natural born or naturalized
- You must live in the state in which you wish to vote
- You must be at least 18-years-old on voting day
In some states, you cannot vote if you are in prison or are a convict. Some states also preclude you from voting if you've been declared mentally incompetent by a court of law.
But, not only is voting your right, it is your duty as a citizen. Be sure and take advantage of that right.
